Bust a Gut

On Thursday, November 22, 2007, also known as "Thanksgiving", I almost busted a gut. I'm not quite sure how it happened, but one moment I was loading my plate up with a little portion of each side dish (stuffing, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, sweet potatoes, 1 slice of cranberry sauce), only 1 slice of turkey and a slight drizzle of gravy, only over the turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing and the next moment my gut was about to bust.

Amazingly enough, before my gut actually burst, I was able to digest a piece of apple pie with a dollop (read as dumping) of whip cream. Of course I did wait about 20 minutes after dinner to eat the pie. I now realize that I really was flirting with disaster. Luckily my jeans have "give" and did not need to be unbuttoned. I was very fortunate that I did not end up wearing the C.C.U. (Chub Containment Unit) that I had originally put on while getting dressed that morning, because I'm sure that would have definitely caused a gut busting.

Next year, you should try my trick: wear a pair of pants that are one size too big. That way, your busting gut won't feel so bad. . .It's all about the planning.

My brother-in-law exclaimed from the dinner table on Thanksgiving, "I think I tore my stomach lining!" Dahahaha!
